Welcome to Mid-Centre County Authority

The Mid-Centre County Authority (MCCA) is a municipal wastewater collection/conveyance and treatment Authority predominately located in the Upper Bald Eagle Valley of Centre County, Pennsylvania, although service does extend into the Lower Bald Eagle Valley (Unionville Borough and Union Township). The MCCA provides sanitary sewer service 1,940 equivalent dwelling units (EDU)in Milesburg Borough, and portions of Unionville Borough, Boggs Township, and Union Township in Centre County, Pennsylvania.

The collection system was primarily constructed in the 1970’s, with the exception of the Unionville Area extension, which was constructed in the late 1980s. The collection and conveyance system is comprised of gravity lines and three intermediate pump stations.

The wastewater treatment facility was most recently upgraded in 2004 and is designed for an average daily flow of 1.0 million gallons per day (MGD). The treatment process includes a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) system. Effluent from the SBR system is passed through a disc filter and then disinfected by ultra-violet light before being discharged to a tributary of Bald Eagle Creek.
